One of the best kept art secrets in OKC is the Oklahoma Artists Invitational Art Show & Benefit that is happening May 3-5 at The Shoppes at NorthPark (122 St & N May) across from Rococo.  This year Desmond Mason, the famous artist and basketball star, is joining them.  Also, Bert Seabourn, a long time Oklahoma favorite artist will again be participating.  Twenty-five other artists will be presenting art, sculpture and jewelry.   The OAI art show accepts only Oklahoma artists and each artist has been juried in as patrons expect high quality art.

From Oklahoma Artists Invitational’s very first show in 2010 they adopted the mission statement that

“Oklahoma Artists Invitational art shows are produced by juried Oklahoma artists interested in making a difference in our world through fine art, charity support and health education”.  Since their beginning the OAI artists have chosen Mercy Foundation-Stroke Treatment & Prevention as their charity and donated a percent of their sales toward this work.  For health education, Dr. Richard V. Smith, Medical Director of the Mercy NeuroScience Institute, gives a free talk during the art show on Stroke Treatment & Prevention.  The art show is the only place the public can hear this life saving talk unless they belong to a group which invites him as a speaker.

This high end, very popular OAI art show offers fabulous original oil & acrylic paintings of all sizes along with stunning sculpture. Three artists offer jewelry with semi-precious stones set in sterling, gold fill and copper.  Many artists offer prints, canvas giclees (prints on canvas from original art) and frameable notecards.  There is a great opportunity for everyone to go home with something they like.

This will be the 14th Oklahoma Artists Invitational popular art show with an appealing venue, wine, food, raffles and fabulous paintings, sculpture and jewelry. This year’s artists include Desmond Mason, Bert Seabourn, Jan J Smith, Karen Seikel, Peggy Lunde, Margaret Hoge, Kay Smith, Neta Wilson, Steve Seikel, Margaret Carroll, Henrie Close, Linda Littlechild, Teri Cunningham, Barbara Fluty,  Allison Powers, Jessie Seikel Hill, Diane Goldschmidt, Cheryl J Smith, Yvonne Covey, Ellen Price, Sandy Wallace, Beverly White, Jeanne Kleinschmidt,  3 jewelry artists, Dustin Buckley, Emily Buckley, Judy Osborn and sculptor, Glen Thomas.

All attendees have an opportunity to participate in raffles offering many desirable items from Glen Thomas sculpture, Dustin Buckley Jewelry, DMason Art print, Framed in the Village, BC Clark and other merchants.   The proceeds from all raffle items and a percent of all sales will be donated to the Mercy Foundation- Stroke & Parkinson Education, Treatment & Research.  Since 2010 OAI has donated over $26,719 to Mercy Foundation.

Oklahoma Artists Invitational is introducing the Certificate of Art Purchase, as an option to support art, charity & important health education.  A pre-purchase is made and then the Certificate of Art Purchase is used as cash to purchase any art, jewelry, sculpture, giclees, prints or cards at the show.   Certificate purchasers receive an invitation to the Friday, May 3, 3:30pm VIP 1st Choice Pre-Party at OAI’s NorthPark venue prior to the opening of the art show.  Desmond Mason will be there to greet each Certificate of Art purchaser and the sponsors.  A percent of all sales go to the OAI charity and this creates a fun way to receive art while supporting Stroke & Parkinson Education, Treatment & Research.
