One of the best-kept art secrets in OKC is the Oklahoma Artists Invitational Art Show & Benefit that is happening April 3rd – 5th at the Mercy NeuroScience Atrium, 4120 W Memorial, OKC. This year Bert Seabourn, a long-time Oklahoma favorite artist, is the featured artist. Twenty artists will be presenting art, sculpture and jewelry. The OAI art show accepts only Oklahoma artists and each artist has been juried in as patrons expect high-quality art.
From Oklahoma Artists Invitational’s very first show in 2010, they adopted the mission statement that “Oklahoma Artists Invitational art shows are produced by juried Oklahoma artists interested in making a difference in our world through fine art, community charitable support and health education”. Since their beginning, the OAI artists have chosen Mercy Health Foundation-Stroke Treatment & Prevention as their charity and donated a percentage of their sales toward this work. For health education, Dr. Richard V. Smith, Medical Director Emeritus of the Mercy NeuroScience Institute, gives a free talk during the art show on Stroke Treatment & Prevention. In April, Dr. Smith is also adding information on Parkinson’s. The art show is the only place the public can hear this life-saving talk unless they belong to a group that invites him as a speaker.
