While Allison’s early years were filled with creative endeavors, she didn’t get serious about art until her late twenties.
Watercolor, with its luminous quality made for endless opportunities to discover and create. She hadn’t imagined that she would enjoy the wonder of painting in oil and soon discovered an affinity for the rich tones and textures found within this medium. The quiet lines and varietal color contrasts that nature provides are inspiring.
From still life, landscape and flowers to sheep-filled pastures, I hope you will enjoy the varied subjects as much as I have delighted in endeavoring to capture them with paint and brush.
Endeavoring to capture those often fleeting moments where God’s creation awes you, smiles at you….moves you in a way you hope to remember forever is not only a beautiful challenge but the greatest joy she finds in creating special works of art.
Allison studied with art instructors Marilyn Kinnaird, Margie Whittington, Jo Rutledge and Carol Ivey in Ft Worth. She continues her art education in Oklahoma City with Judy McCombs. Allison, a florist owner, is a member of Oklahoma Artists Invitational and serves as floral arrangements chairman.
