Ellen Price, an Oklahoma City artist, has been oil painting for 14 years with several painting instructors. She loves color and outdoor subjects. Ellen began painting in 2003 with teacher Jimi Switzer and then she was introduced to her new art adventure and art teacher, Judy McCombs. Under Judy’s instruction, Ellen gained an extreme amount of painting knowledge in landscapes. To learn more about the art of oil painting, Ellen’s next quest was traveling with Judy and the art class to the New England states for the ocean seashores and to Santa Fe for the Southwest desert mountains and the adobe casas. Ellen gained other informative painting instruction from Dennis Parker and Kelly Folsom.
I love being outside in nature surrounded by my flowers and animals! This comes through in my art.
Ellen was a member of the Oklahoma Art Guild. While a member, she participated in their art shows, won a few ribbons and sold some paintings. She has also participated in shows at 50 Penn Art Gallery and La Baguette Art Show and serves as a docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. One of the original founders of Oklahoma Artists Invitational art shows, Ellen has received the Founding Artists award for showing in ten OAI art shows.
