Glen Thomas is a sculptor, painter and illustrator who studied art at USAO (Univ. of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) and has also studied with nationally known artists including Eugene Daub and Peter Rubino. His favorite subject is the human portrait and figure with animal figures and landscape paintings running a close second.
I relish the challenge of creating works of art in oil, pencil, clay and bronze.
As a member of the Oklahoma Art Guild, Glen received recognition for exhibiting more than ten times in their national juried art shows. He won several ribbons for his sculpture works in these shows. Glen has won many awards from his participation in Oklahoma Sculpture Society shows and competitions including first place ribbons in 2003,2004,2009,2011,2013 and 2018. He won Best of Show in the Nescatunga Arts Festival in Alva, OK and in the Purcell Arts Festival in Purcell, OK. Glen was the featured artist on “Gallery” (OETA) in May of 2009.
Glen instructs figure drawing at OK Contemporary Art Center and teaches sculpting and painting at his studio. Glen’s paintings and sculpture are to be found in public and private collections across the U.S. from Maine to Florida to Nevada. He is equally at home with tabletop sculpture and monument size. Locally, his work can be seen at 50 Penn Place Art Gallery in Oklahoma City & Oklahoma Artists Invitational twice yearly art shows. He has also shown his sculpture at JRB at the Elms in Oklahoma City and at Greenberg Fine Art Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
