Steve Seikel

Steve discovered at a young age that he had a natural talent in drawing, winning various art awards in school and developing a strong interest in architecture. After graduating high school, he pursued a degree in architecture while working in the construction and restaurant industry. In 1988 while finishing his degree, he established Steve’s Rib BBQ restaurant in Edmond OK.

I have always been driven to be creative whether it be designing a building, making something with my hands, drawing or painting.  I have to be creative!

In 2010, he was encouraged by his wife and cousin, that pursuing fine art would be far cheaper than construction projects. After starting an oil painting class, he soon decided to build an art studio onto his home. He then joined with other local artists to form the “Oklahoma Artists Invitational” in 2014 and has become known for his cityscapes and European paintings from trips abroad. Steve has studied under noted Oklahoma Artist Judy McCombs, Kelly Folsom and Dennis Parker. He has shown in Oklahoma Artist Invitational, The  Art Auction-OKA+Schools, The Art Group, Bartlesville Oklahoma Art Show winning first place. Steves art is currently available in Steve’s Ribs, Edmond, OK and his home studio Seikel Art.

One of the original founders of Oklahoma Artists Invitational art shows, Steve has received the Founding Artists award for showing in ten OAI art shows.  He is 1 of 3 artists who have been in all 15 shows and is this show’s Featured Artist.  Steve is also the OAI’s setup chairman.
